Paid... Yeah...

Haha.. Well, I got my first client payment for PagoPages.com. Does it count when the client is a close friend of the family?

I think most small businesses start off like that anyway. You really don't know how much people are willing to pay for your services until someone who knows you offers to pay you to help them.

Anyway, I need to stick the checks into the night deposit because the banks were all closed by the time I swung by their offices to pick up the checks, and banks here don't open on Saturdays.

PagoPages.com

My business license is all sorted out. I have opened my business bank accounts. I have billed my existing clients. I have opened my file for my business related certificates and documents.

I think I'm all good for now. From here on out, it is business as usual, which means a lot of late nights falling asleep and dreaming of lines of code dancing and weaving through my mind's eye. Sweet.

Better yet, late nights writing lines of code and dreaming of dancing girls. We'll see which is which in a few months...

When to Buy and When to Sell...

When to buy and when to sell are age old questions in the activity known as "buying and selling." In the case of investments, when to buy and when to sell will lead many into deep philosophical funks.

Now, I'm kind of glad that over the last two days my stocks have recovered, but now I'm contemplating paying more attention to "selling." The reason is that I've been thinking very hard about making profits (yes, I'm descended from three very different mercantile minorities and one alcoholic one too).

More Pie Please...

Hello again...

Yeah, can you tell I'm a Mac user?

Please push the #2 for English.

I'm tired. Stayed up late watching Scrubs. Can't believe I took one night to just relax. Tired.

Relaxation is supposed to be restful, unless you're me. I do things backward. Relaxation involves distracting my brain with comedy. The end result is usually me staying awake. Sad.

I sleep less when I'm relaxing than when I'm stressed.

Pass the pie please. Yes, Apple pie.

Thank you.

As Flighty As A Butterfly... Or in my case, "Moth".

Yes, if you're a reader of my itinerant ramblings then you must be insane or just very, very bored.

My stock market investments are doing fine. Thank you for asking. No updates lately because nothing has happened. Everything is just about frozen at 30% up from bottom with frequent dips into the 10% and break even range. I'm waiting for the value of my stock picks to at the very least double before selling, and I expect that to happen in the next six months.

Why RIM (Research In Motion) should be worried about Apple's entry into the enterprise mobile market...

RIM, maker of the well known and dearly loved Blackberry mobile e-mail and cell phone device that meshes so well with corporate/enterprise IT solutions is looking down the barrel of a very large canon.

The Apple iPhone device was initially targeted at the consumer segment of the market, but its Mac OS X underpinnings make it flexible enough that with the announcement of version 2.0 of the iPhone's software coming in June, there's a strong chance that the Blackberry's lead is going to diminish into a distant second place.

For Nick

There is no easy way to deal with death, especially when it is the death of someone close to you. My cousin Nick Harris passed away last week, and we attended his funeral service today.

Aunty Louise gave a moving and uplifting eulogy. It made me feel better, but only for a little while. I think I rubbed the skin raw around my eyes and nose trying to keep my face dry and clear of tears, and failing somewhat.

Apple Computer & The Amazing Shrunken Laptop

Apple kicked off the MacWorld Expo with a keynote from the mighty man of mysterious technology, Steve Jobs. While he didn't come floating in on the much rumored Apple Anti-gravity sled as has been suggested by myself, he did make four notable announcements, of which I'll be focusing on one for this blog.

The MacBook Air... Kind of like an Air Jordan that weighs 3 lbs. and doesn't go on your feet. Who wore their Air Jordans anyhow? They were for bragging about only... although this MacBook Air has an air about it (pun intended) that practically screams, "USE ME!"

The Investment Project

Yes. As is apparent in other postings, I'm in the process of trying to raise a bit of capital for future projects. Now, simple savings, which is how I indicated I was going to do this, is not going to cut it.

To that effect, I've worked on identifying undervalued stocks. I waited out the Dec. 31st end of the year before opening up my first investment account with TD Ameritrade, and now I'm the proud owner of some seriously undervalued stocks.

HOT Dog

Just a little bit about a project I will be starting. I'm not afraid of any competition, especially not on this island. Competition comes and goes, but those who focus on doing a good job every day at a good price that people are willing to pay, will stick around.
