Yes, books. My passions include Science Fiction, Fantasy, and pretending to be famous. Now, I can have a forum all about books in my favorite genres, and hopefully - if people like what I have to say, I won't have to pretend about being famous.
Gardening in the Tropics is different than gardening anywhere else. Constant and abundant rainfall, and temperatures that range between 75°F-95°F all year long make for a very different growing environment. Most publications and blogs focus on information concerning growing in temperate zones. This forum will be focused on growing vegetables, flowers, and other things in the tropics. Location: American Samoa, Approximately 14°S and 171°W

Growing cabbage in the tropics can be a real pain. It seems like everything that crawls or slithers can't resist taking a bite or two out of your cabbage. From caterpillars to slugs and snails, cabbages suffer from a wide variety of pests in the tropics, but it remains a favorite, consistently grown crop.

Leafy or head lettuce. It really doesn't matter. Lettuce loves the tropics. It loves it so much, that the first thing lettuce wants to do is make baby lettuce, which is great for the lettuce, but bad for the kitchen table. Let us know about your experiences with lettuce in the tropics, and how you overcame some of your problems.
