Growing cabbage in the tropics can be a real pain. It seems like everything that crawls or slithers can't resist taking a bite or two out of your cabbage. From caterpillars to slugs and snails, cabbages suffer from a wide variety of pests in the tropics, but it remains a favorite, consistently grown crop.

Leafy or head lettuce. It really doesn't matter. Lettuce loves the tropics. It loves it so much, that the first thing lettuce wants to do is make baby lettuce, which is great for the lettuce, but bad for the kitchen table.
