Lettuce Mourn For The Recently Departed

As stated in the topic description, lettuce loves the tropics. It grows quickly, and goes to seed quickly, which is great for the lettuce, but bad for the kitchen table.

I'm not much of a lettuce eater, however, my father loves lettuce. I personally prefer spinach to lettuce, so this time around, we've one bed with peppers and spinach, and another bed dedicated entirely to lettuce. Of course, by the time we're done redoing the garden, the bed currently hosting our carrots will be dug up, overturned, composted, re-fertilized with a granular fertilizer, and then made host to all the tiny little lettuce transplants that will be overcrowding the first bed.

It looks like we'll have a bumper crop of lettuce in a couple of months... Or, more likely, we'll have a bunch of weeds purporting to be lettuce, but really they're just evil, barely edible, cousins that contaminated our seed packets... LOL...
