When to Buy and When to Sell...
When to buy and when to sell are age old questions in the activity known as "buying and selling." In the case of investments, when to buy and when to sell will lead many into deep philosophical funks.
Now, I'm kind of glad that over the last two days my stocks have recovered, but now I'm contemplating paying more attention to "selling." The reason is that I've been thinking very hard about making profits (yes, I'm descended from three very different mercantile minorities and one alcoholic one too).
So, my thoughts on selling are this. I will start taking profits on my investments by selling. I will then buy again when things drop. I will take an active interest in managing my investments properly for long term gains. I will not panic. ;-)
Anyhow, I just wanted to share some thoughts. I figure 15-30% gains are good for selling into.
Buy High, Sell Low... Or is it the other way around?
Fun days are ahead as the market continues its current "recovery" from the bad news of the last few months.
I've started selling some of my positions and taking profits, and I've staked out new positions on the premise that those particular stocks will begin their rise fairly soon. Once I think they've risen enough, I'll sell a few more positions and continue taking profits in that manner.
This Blog is probably going to be moving soon. I'm thinking about doing it this weekend. It should be fun. I'll be hosting it on my brand, spanking new VPS, a digital virtual server located on the clusters at Media Temple.
Anyhow, that's all for now.
