My business license is all sorted out. I have opened my business bank accounts. I have billed my existing clients. I have opened my file for my business related certificates and documents.
I think I'm all good for now. From here on out, it is business as usual, which means a lot of late nights falling asleep and dreaming of lines of code dancing and weaving through my mind's eye. Sweet.
Better yet, late nights writing lines of code and dreaming of dancing girls. We'll see which is which in a few months...
My original intent was to be up and running for Flag Day, but given the way things worked out I'm putting off the true launch date for the community portal and news portions of my site until I've gotten a little more practice in the content generation department. Mostly, there is only one of me and doing content generation for a site like mine is more complex than I'd thought (welcome to the real world where things are always more complex than they appear).
Oh, I'm still extremely optimistic and happy with the way things are working out. I'm actively pursuing various potential clients through my usual hammer and chisel method (steep discounts all around). It is like throwing toilet paper at a ceiling. Sometimes it sticks and eventually someone will notice.
My next phase in development is the Channel pages on the site. Now that the Views module has reached "beta", I can start developing the look and feel of my channel pages. I'll start with the government page, and the business listings, and move on from there. Or I might start with the Tourism page. That page will be easier for me since Tourism related information is usually free for the asking (if tourism related businesses aren't throwing their information at me, then something is wrong with them).
I'm looking at a few other things to do with my site's organization, and I think I'm headed in the right direction. Better to get it right from the start than get it up running fast with hacks and having a hard time bringing it back into line with standard code later.
That's it for now. Remember, PagoPages.com.
