Epoch - Part 2

Well, we've got several mature Epoch plants up and running and we've gotten a few ripe ones off of them. As usual we're in direct competition with those damned Mynah birds that have learned out to dive through holes in the netting and then reverse the feat to get out. Damned birds seemed to adore the Epoch tomatoes and start pecking at them just before the first visible color becomes visible. I bet you that ripe fruits change the spectrum they reflect in first in a non-visible to human spectrum like infrared or ultraviolet, meaning the birds can see the change hours before the first visible color changes occur.

But more on the variety - Epoch again has proven to be an excellent hot and dry weather producer, doing well and setting plenty of fruit even when it didn't rain at least every other day. I would definitely recommend this variety to those growing in desert-like climates.
